Awarded the Miller Prize (1996)

As early as 1996, Prof. Hahn was honoured for his developments of a new polymer ceramic and reaction pyrolysis with the renowned Miller Prize, the highest scientific accolade in dentistry – a milestone and a testament to his scientific achievements.

Pioneers of Modern Dentistry

As early as the 1990s, Prof. Hahn at the University Clinic Tübingen ushered in a new era of dental materials. He was one of the first to use aluminium oxide and zirconia ceramics for dental restorations – in collaboration with Espe Dental and based on his own technology: Sonoerosion.

Together with Dürr Dental, Prof. Hahn developed the Vector principle, which significantly shaped gentle and effective PA therapy. It was celebrated not only within professional circles – Stern TV reported live on the innovation at the time.

The Rise of Cumdente
– Science Becomes Business

In 1997, Prof. Hahn founded his company Cumdente – at a time when there were no investors, long before "startups" became a term in dentistry. The idea: High-quality products with clinical relevance, from practice – for practice.

New materials for new therapies

In the late 1990s, Hahn made modern adhesive technology, endodontics and composite technology practical: with innovative bondings, cements, and filling materials that quickly established Cumdente as a technology leader. From innovations, therapy concepts were developed – Cumdente continues to implement them successfully through collaborations: Its DentalSchool work cards are practical, widely used – and an integral part of modern continuing education.

– Advanced Training at the Highest Level

Simultaneously, the DentalSchool Tübingen founded by Cumdente quickly established itself as one of the leading German-speaking training platforms – with the aim of providing optimal support to colleagues in practice.

Prophylaxis for the world
– ApaCare, OraLactin & Power Pulse

Prevention has been a central focus area of Prof. Hahn for decades – scientifically, clinically, and entrepreneurially anchored. The appointment to the Chair of Dental Prevention at Danube Private University in 2010 provided the academic foundation for numerous product developments.

In 2008, ApaCare was created as one of the first prophylaxis lines based on liquid tooth enamel, widely awarded for its protection and repair mechanism.

In 2021, OraLactin followed – an innovative approach to targeted microbiome regulation using scientifically based probiotic formulations.

Since 2025, the functional power drink Oralactin Power Pulse has completed the range – developed to support circulation, performance, and microbial balance in everyday life.
